Road Rides
Generally we ride road bikes directly from our shop. We’re not big into transporting the bikes, or having to drive to a ride. Here’s a short and brief list of the rides that we love to do from our shop. If you have something else in mind, feel free to ask!
All road bike rentals come with cue sheets, if you’re bringing your bike to town, our cue sheets are available for purchase in the shop.
- Old Santa Fe Trail
- Head out the way people first came into town. Easy ride from the shop, just get on Old Santa Fe Trail and follow it out to the small village Canada de los Alamos. You feel like you’re heading steadily uphill the way out, which means nothing but big ring fun on the way back! 22 miles out and back.
- Old Las Vegas Hwy
- Big new shoulder on Old Las Vegas Highway, nice rollers generally mild its the perfect gateway to Hwy 285 to reach either the El Dorado Loop or Galisteo.
- El Dorado Loop
- Scenic loop through the El Dorado community southeast of Santa Fe, from Santa Fe, 285 and back. Extremely scenic views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain, the Jemez mountains, the Sandia, and the Ortiz mountains. 38 miles (options to extend) round trip.
- Ski Basin Climb
- Up up up up! Right out of downtown, head up Hyde Park Road. Don’t stop! Climb until you reach the Santa Fe Ski Basin parking lot....at 10,400ft! 30 miles round trip. Secret: the hardest part of the ride is halfway up.
- Las Campanas
- Beautiful loop to the west of town, through the private community of Las Campanas. Fairly mild, no extreme climbs or descents through the entire ride. Mike’s choice for “Afterwork Road Ride.”
- White Rock Loops
- Santa Fe to Los Alamos via Pojoaque. Serious climbing over many miles. Pass through Los Alamos, the National Labs, then head down to White Rock, before beginning the trip back. BIG MILES! 110 miles.
